Facebook is once again in the news and this time for its latest innovation. The social media site is all set to launch its own weather app that would allow users to check their local weather forecast anytime.

As reports suggest, Facebook has already started rolling out the latest feature starting from Wednesday. Users would be able to find it on the News Feed in their mobile app or desktop. It would be found in the place where users can see options such as Friends, Groups, Events and more.

As BGR reported, when users access the Facebook weather update feature, they would be greeted by an hourly weather update along with five days weather update. Interestingly, the weather update would be forecasted by Weather.com.

The users would also get a graphic representation of the current weather in their area. For instance, the users experiencing a winter storm, would be greeted by something similar to a snowy scene. Facebook has rolled out the weather greetings last year in the News Feed. It gave the users a basic report of the weather in their city just when they logged in.

According to CNET, the latest full weather feature that Facebook is planning to offer would just be an extension of the previous feature. This time along with the current weather, users would also be greeted with a five day weather update .

However, the greeting wont always be available on Facebook News Feed, users need to check it through the Weather Access section as and when they need. Even though the weather section would show the default weather of the user's current location, users can add other locations by tapping on the Settings menu.

Facebook would also allow users to turn on notification for the weather report. However, this feature is still in its testing phase and wouldn't be available to all the users till the month end.
