“One Piece” fans might be joyed to hear that as the “Year of Sanji” is reported to end, a new spinoff is coming their way. Surprisingly, the spinoff would focus on the fiery brother of Monkey D. Luffy which is Portgas D. Ace.

According to Crunchyroll, Shonen Jump had revealed that the 2016 year of Sanji is nearing its end. What’s more is that a surprise light novel for Portgas D. Ace known as “Fire Fist” would be issued on Oct.6 in accordance with its 20th anniversary this 2017. The colored page of the magazine hinted the tribute for the passed away brother of the “One Piece” Straw Hat Pirate’s leader.

Comicbook then reported that fans had found who would be responsible for Ace’s tribute. The fans then looked on an editor of “One Piece” Twitter page who tweeted a picture of his desktop screen. The fans were then quick to notice some interesting folders. In which one certain folder had the name “OP_RANK” which was speculated to hold the beans regarding the Ace spin-off.

The interesting part is that the “One Piece” fans also discovered another folder which has the name of Ryohgo Narita on it. Ryohgo Narita known for his creation of the “Durarara!!” and “Baccano” franchise had now hyped up some “Fire Fist” fans. Narita was also reported to work on 2012 franchise “Bleach.”

Furthermore, the publication then noted that the “One Piece Magazine did tell fans earlier this year that the story would cover Ace’s exit from Mt. Colubo and the eventual creation of the Spade Pirates.” Another side of the sequel is mentioned to be the meeting of Ace and Jinbei which later on leads him as the Whitebeard Pirates’ 2nd division commander.

Ace’s role in “One Piece” was killed by the World Government in the Marineford Arc. He was deemed to be executed for the sole reason of being the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger’s son. Ace was then successfully saved by the pirates from the marine’s custody. Yet, he still left Luffy since he died sacrificing his life to save his brother from the hands of Vice Admiral Akainu. This plot story of Ace then left some “One Piece” fans drastic so, the upcoming sequel might just be what those fans would need.
