Google had announced last month that it would roll out a limited edition of Android Instant Apps. This platform would allow users to run software without having to install it in device. The tech giant also mentioned that the Apps would be available for selected smartphones.

According to Digital Times, the Android Instant apps platform would be available on some Nexus and Pixel models. As per information, not all devices that are running on Android Nougat 7.0 would receive Instant Apps immediately. The company is rolling out the feature slowly, without actually informing the users about it.

However, users can check their smartphone to see if it is available. They need to go to Google Services sub menu under Settings. The smartphones supporting it would have a toggle for Instant Apps, where users can opt in.

For those lucky users who already have access to the app, it can be a bit counter intuitive in the early stages. The users need to search for them in Chrome. Also, there are only four examples available as of now. These include Periscope, Wish, Viki and Buzzfeed. A search result at the top with instant would appear and users need to follow the link to run the app.

Till now, not all the apps are working in all these cases, as Android Authority reported. It is also unclear as to which devices and Android versions would receive the feature. Google however, had informed that it is likely to be available from 4.1 Jelly Bean and up.

The tech biggie is trying to eliminate the need to install an app users would use only once or want to test try. These would be similar to those tiny apps that disappear from the device once it is closed. When Google announced the arrival of the Android Instant Apps in May 2016, it mentioned about a dozen partners.
