It was almost a year but the tragedy that left most users in fear of using it again hasn't surpassed. That's why this time, Samsung Electronics Co. will make use of a third-party supplier for its upcoming flagship phone. This is to address the concern about the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco and avoid it from happening again.

To ensure a no-repeat crisis this 2017, Samsung is adding a familiar name to its list of manufacturers that will take care of its flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy 8. This brand is no other than the giant Japanese company named "Sony", as Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

Samsung will still use lithium-ion batteries for its Samsung Galaxy S8, and Sony will be the third company to provide it. However, the order placed to the Japanese brand is proportionally smaller compared to the other two providers, Amperex and Samsung SDI Co.

Samsung's huge controversy about its battery last year has left it red-faced. This made the brand recall its phone twice and discontinue its production due to the battery issues associated with it. CNET reported that the fiasco is about devices left to overheat and explode or catch on fire. This incident did not only cause Samsung to injure itself financially but also, it almost lost its patrons and reputation. Therefore, it's no surprise to know that the Korean company is doing its best to prevent such things from happening again by looking at the offers of other providers.

Despite being a competitor of Samsung in the mobile and tech industry, Sony is known to provide high-quality parts to various companies that make mobile phones. Moreover, it provides Apple some of its camera tech for its iPhone's much-commended camera. As of now, neither Samsung nor Sony have given their comment about the recent reports.
