Fertility over 50 would be hard, but not with the 64-year-old woman who gave birth to a twin. Big thanks to the team of Recoleta Burgos Hospital in Spain for doing such a success delivery led by Doctors Rodríguez and Palomo.

A 64-year old woman named Mia underwent Vitro fertilization in the United States before returning to Spain. According to the Data given by Hospital Recoletas Burgos, Mia went through a cesarean section after giving birth to a boy and a girl twin; all of them are in good health.

Back in 2011, when Mia is already 58 years old back then, she has been given birth to her first daughter at the same hospital. This kind of cases is exceptional not only Castile and Leo but also in Spain.

The multidisciplinary team of Recoleta Burgos Hospital is behind this success. The team formed by two gynecologists - Dr. Rodríguez and Dr. Palomo; two pediatricians - Dr. Merino and Dr. Gutiérrez and two midwives along with the entire nursing team.

The data released by the Centers for Disease Control Prevention showed that in 1997 only 144 babies were born to women between 50 and 54 years old. While in 2012 there were successful 600 babies were born.

Mia, the 64-year old woman, is just one of the older moms who has been successful in giving births even at the age of 50. CNN reported that this is no surprise because celebrities like Janet Jackson gave birth to her first child last January at the age of 50.

However, according to some medical professionals, there are risk and danger when it comes to this kind of birth. Both for the child who was born and for the mom who will deliver at the older age. Dr. Mark Sauer, vice chairman of the Department of Obstetrics told CNN that mothers who are now pregnant on their 50, 55 "they have to be prepared for that."
