Pregnancy is the most anticipated stage of many women and often, it leaves them overwhelmed. However, every pregnant woman should take note of the food that they should avoid while they are planning to conceive or during pregnancy itself. Some of these include raw egg, farm raised fish, and papaya.

According to Baby Center, eating soft-boiled or raw eggs risks the pregnant woman of having salmonella bacteria. Washing it can only make it more prone to the microorganisms since an egg tends to become more porous when wet, this making it easier for bacteria to get inside.

Meanwhile, eating farm-raised fish or fish itself is considered a healthy choice, however, it is also packed with mercury making it risky for pregnant women. However, it is still recommended to eat the right type of fish, which are low in mercury, as it is good for the pregnant woman and the baby. Some fish to avoid are bigeye tuna, marlin, and king mackerel.

Health And Mind Care also suggested avoiding eating papaya, especially the green and unripe ones, as it is believed to cause miscarriage. This is because it is made up of enzymes that cause uterine contractions leading to abortion. Apart from the papaya, another fruit that is supposed to be healthy is marked to be avoided by pregnant women. This is because it helps in making the delivery fast and easy, thus making it risky when consumed during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

It is also advised to stop eating animal liver as it contains toxins that are taken from sick animals. It also has a high amount of vitamin A and cholesterol which has a negative effect on the fetus and can lead to miscarriage. Even those who are not pregnant should be limited from eating too much animal liver.
Pregnancy is an important moment, therefore, it is just rightful for a person to be aware of things that should be done and avoided.
