Microsoft would be updating the mail and calendar app for Windows 10 with the features it has been using in the mobile app. One of the biggest inclusions is the Focused Inbox. This is a feature that was available on Outlook for Android and iOS.

According to The Verge, the Focused Inbox let the users separate the inbox in two sections. It lets the important emails filter into Focused section and the less important emails and newsletters into the Other section. Interestingly, it has worked well in the mobile version of the app and helps user learn the email habits as they go on using the app.

Microsoft has also decided to limit the Focused Inbox in Windows 10 Mail app to Office 365 accounts and Outlook.com. However, the feature is still available in Gmail and Google Apps accounts on the mobile versions. Along with this, the tech giant is also bringing mentions to the Mail app for Windows 10.

The users can simply add @ to tag a name into the email. Even if the person isn't there in the email thread they will be added to the email thread automatically. Coming to the calendar side, Microsoft is planning to add colored categories, amazing calendars, package delivery support, travel reservation and more Engadget reported. The colored categories allow the users to categorize calendar events with the help of colors.

The calendar features also allow users to find calendars for TV shows, sports teams and more. It allows the users to add these to the existing calendar to track the upcoming events.

However, the most interesting feature of the calendar app is the travel reservation and the package delivery details. When such a feature is in the user's calendar, the mail for Windows 10 would set up summary details that would details of the flight or package. These changes are expected to roll out right away through app update through Calendar and Mail on Windows Store.
