CBS’ ‘Criminal Minds’ Korean Remake Casts Lee Jun Ki and Moon Chae Won, ‘Descendants of the Sun’ Production to Take Over

CBS’ U.S. TV Series, “Criminal Minds” had been on top of the charts since its premiere in 2005. Having over 12 produced seasons, the series’ then centers on FBI profilers from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) analyzing criminal minds. NEW and Taewon Entertainment is then reported to take over the Korean Remake of the U.S. series.

According to Inquisitr, “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” star, Lee Joon Ki was offered the role in “Criminal Minds.” Hence, it was then considered to be an opportunity to work again with co-star Moon Chae Won. Namoo Actors, which represented the actors then released a statement that Joon Gi was indeed offered the role and it is still “process of discussion.”

With that said, All Kpop mentioned that Moon Chae Woon also considers the role in the “Criminal Minds” same with Lee Joon Ki per their agency's released statement. In addition, actress Kim Ah Joong was offered the role as well but it was also released by her agency, King Kong Entertainment that the “200 Pounds of Beauty” actress is still looking into it yet nothing is still confirmed.

Soompi also reported that the NEW Company had already released an announcement that their company and Taewon Entertainment would collaborate on the “Criminal Minds” remake. “We are targeting an early 2017 premiere, and are discussing the selection of a broadcast station,” the representative of NEW said.

Disney Media Distribution is also identified to work with the “Descendants of the Sun” production and “Marrying the Mafia” production to be in charge of distributing the adaptations in other Asian countries. Yet, amid reports, no exact release date for “Criminal Minds” Korean remake had been announced. Just that it is expected to air to KBS was mentioned.
