The Microsoft Surface Phone that might give a tough competition to Apple and Google phones will be delayed. As per latest reports, this delay of the smartphone has been caused by the tech giant. In fact, Microsoft has been giving full attention to the struggling Windows 10 Operating System.

Earlier, the company was working hard on Microsoft Surface Phone. It would have been the successor to the Lumia line of devices. Sadly, as per Droid Report, the device would be delayed till further announcement. Reports also claim that the release of the Windows-based smartphone has been pushed back.

The actual reason behind the delay is Microsoft's decision to concentrate on Windows 10 Mobile OS instead of releasing the latest Microsoft Surface Phone. However, the news of the delay has come from a Reddit user. The user had claimed to be a former employee of Microsoft contractor.

As per the user, the tech biggie might launch Microsoft Surface Phone sometime in 2018 or 2019, Express reported. That's not all, the user further mentioned that Microsoft would further push the upcoming device, which is the tech giant's most powerful device.

The Microsoft Surface Phone is also expected to come with a metallic casing covering entire structure of the device. It would also come with a Type Cover support. This feature is similar to the ones found in Microsoft Surface tablet series.

The upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone would be powered by Windows 10. It has been designed for ARM-based SoCs of Qualcomm. Apart from this, the phone is also expected to feature Quad HD display, USB Type C port, 23 megapixel of the rear camera with Carl Zeiss lens. The device would also have 6 GB RAM along with 8 MP of front camera.

The best feature of the Microsoft Surface Phone is its ability to get connected to an external keyboard, mouse as well as display to run desktops based apps such as Adobe Photoshop. This is one of the biggest features brought in by Continuum.
