Acquired immune deficiency syndrome is a disease that attacks the immune system. Also known as AIDS, it is an illness which makes people more prone to infections and sickness, which could eventually lead to death. Unfortunately, unlike other diseases where extensive treatment is available, AIDS doesn't have an actual cure to date.

While technology cannot find until now the absolute cure to end the human race's struggle against AIDS, Apple will do their own contribution in helping people fight HIV/AIDS. In a report by CBS News, the Apple family is welcoming its new member, a cherry and bright red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new version has a bright white front bezel and red back, with the rear Apple logo in its reflective silver color. The red version of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be sold in stores and online this Friday, March 24.

Sources from Techcrunch stated that proceeds from the sale of each iPhone red version will financially assist Global Fund in its efforts to save the world from the deadly disease. This movement is part of the technology giant's partnership with (RED), a project that supports the Global Fund's effort to get rid of HIV/AIDS. This partnership contributed to some $130 million donations to the cause. The exact amount of Apple's donation to Global Fund with red iPhones was not disclosed, but it was stated that the tech giant is the largest corporate donor to the organization.

According to DailyMail, Global Fund specifically focuses in sub-Saharan Africa, a place where over 70 percent of the people who tested positive for HIV is living. The organization. The non-profit organization provides the locals with life-saving AIDS programs such as testing, counseling, prevention and treatment. This is considered a breakthrough in fighting against HIV in which technology and humanity worked together to make a difference.
