ARM processors are designed to operate at a higher speed, performing more millions of instructions per second. Because it provides an excellent performance, it is widely used in consumer electronic devices such as smartphones, multimedia players, tablets, mobile devices and other wearables. No wonder the recent rumor regarding Microsoft Surface Phone, the company's most coveted mobile device, is garnering everyone's attention.

According to Dr. Windows, Microsoft is working on a device that might be dubbed as the legendary mobile device that will run Windows 10 on ARM or CShell, which is the summary of all surfaces found on Windows 10 in 1. Enthusiasts are expecting to see Microsoft Surface Phone at the end of 2017 or starting next year.

Unfortunately, the consumers will still have to wait a year or two to finally get their hands on this device following a post from an alleged former employee of a Microsoft contractor. The Windows Report stated that it is correct that Microsoft will release a new phone this 2017 but it is not the Surface Phone. The report doesn't say anything concrete about this device or the Surface Phone. However, the ex-employee added some speculation, saying that the fact that Microsoft doesn't talk about the Windows 10 Mobile may be part of some strategy for upcoming phones being built by the tech giant.

Microsoft Surface Phone's major delay of its release may be due to the loose ends present in CShell, Windows 10 Cloud, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 ARM. Droid Report claimed that the company is aiming to run Win32 applications on the Microsoft Surface Phone. This is a key feature that will be a selling point to consumers. Another key feature is the phone's ability to function as a pocket-sized laptop that will potentially solve the shortcomings of HP Elite X3.
