Samsung has launched the 5.7 inches Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in September 2016, and within a few days after its launch, it had severe issues. Several cases of the phone catching fire, overheating and even cases the explosion of the phone had been reported. People have complained even about damages of property and injuries to humans. All these reports from the United States of America and Canada made Samsung recall all the sold units in the middle of September last year, and finally, the sale of the phones was completely stopped.

As per The Guardian, Samsung is thinking of recycling the parts of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that can be used as refurbished or rental phones in some markets. Samsung is planning to remove the parts from Note 7 and reuse the parts in different phones and most importantly Samsung mentioned that the devices would be recycled and processed in a safe environmentally friendly manner. Any of the parts or components that are capable of being saved or repaired would be detached for the purpose of reuse, and the metals would be extracted by the recycling companies that are a specialist in this particular field.

According to Droid Report, the Korean tech company said the refurbished phones or the rental phones would be targeting different markets other than the United States and Canada. Also, it stated that regarding the refurbished models, its applicability is dependent upon consultations with the various regulatory authorities and carriers as well as considering the local demand. Greenpeace welcomed the news stating that this came in response to the several months of protests and campaigning addressing the environmental impact that the recall will have.

This step from Samsung is a major win for the ones who took a step and an action towards shifting the way of production disposal of electronic items.
