'Supergirl' Season 2 Finale: Calista Flockhart, Tyler Hoechlin Make A Major Comeback

Calista Flockhart is officially reprising her role as Cat Grant in the last two episodes of “Supergirl” Season 2. The 52-year-old actress took her final appearance in the second episode of the series’ Season 2, entitled “The Last Children of Krypton.”

According to Deadline, Calista Flockhart only prefers acting jobs that are based in Los Angeles to be with her family. However, when CW took over the series from CBS at the end of its season one, WBTV decided to relocate. The production of "Supergirl" Season 2 was moved to Vancouver.

Calista Flockhart then became a persistent guest star from being a regular cast. The actress doesn’t want to move out from Los Angeles for a longer period, so she decided to quit in the “Supergirl” Season 2.

In the second episode of "Supergirl" Season 2, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant made up her mind because she felt stagnant in her job. Despite that, she is leading the CatCo Worldwide Media, Cat still wants to explore new challenges. Before the boss filed a leave of absence from the company, she appointed James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) to take over her chair for the meantime.

According to Comicbook, the comeback of Calista Flockhart will mark her first appearance on the show since she bid good-bye. In fact, she is the second cast that was revealed for a major return in the “Supergirl” Season 2 finale. Tyler Hoechlin was previously reported of reprising his role in the show as Superman to fight new villains alongside Kara Zor-El, the supergirl.

Meanwhile, the CW is still tight-lipped for further details about the return of Calista Flockhart. Nevertheless, the important thing is that the TV channel confirmed the actress' appearance in last two episodes of "Supergirl" Season 2. The first part of those episodes is set to be aired Monday 8 p.m. May 15, while the finale will follow on May 22.
