The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus were both launched during the 2017 Mobile World Congress. They both have fingerprint scanners on the front. The G Series Motorola phones have a very similar design and offer a metal build. Knowing their difference will help you determine the right phone for you.

When it comes to the display, Gizmo Times reveals that the Moto G5 Plus will have a slightly bigger 5.2-inch screen and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Moto G5, on the other hand, will come with a 5-inch screen size. Motorolla, however, reveals that despite more pixel density, there won't be a huge difference.

The Moto G5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC and will come in 2/3GB RAM variants. Meanwhile, the Moto G5 Plus will run on the most efficient Snapdragon 625 Octa-core chipset with 2/3/4GB variants. The Snapdragon 430 processor is more like a budget Octa-core chipset while the Snapdragon is known for its efficiency and robust performance.

For the camera capabilities, Pocket Lint reveals that the Moto G5 will come with a 13-megapixel rear camera with face detection autofocus, 1.1µm pixels, an aperture of f/2.0 and LED flash. The front-facing camera is 5 megapixels with a wide angle lens, 1.4µm pixels, and an aperture of f/2.2. It will also feature an onboard display flash.

The Moto G5 Plus, on the other hand, will bring a 12-megapixel Dual Autofocus rear camera with 1.4µm pixels, an aperture of f/1.7 and a color balancing dual LED flash. While it has a lower resolution, the G5 Plus offers the most advanced camera in its category. The bigger G5 Plus offers 4k video recording capability while the Moto G5 can only offer Full HD.

As a standard feature, the Moto G5 comes with a 16GB internal storage and a 2800mAh battery while the G5 Plus comes with a 32GB internal storage and a 3000 mAh battery as standard. However, both will have microSD support for additional storage of up to 128GB.
