According to the Demi Lovato's tweet last February, March 2015 marks the third year of her sobriety.

On Sunday, to pay homage to the third anniversary of her being clean, Demi's boyfriend and actor, Wilder Valderrama, posted a special message for his girlfriend on Instagram.

"Today, we lay another stone together," the message said, "It is now 3 years since you said: I am more important then any past, demon, disorder or addiction.. Where you decided that YOUR life was worth living while loving yourself.. And I'm sure glad you did...I knew then the woman you've become now.. I am proud and honor to be front row to see the world you are about to change."

The actor ends the message with, "I love you Demi."

Lovato, a former Disney star, has been very open about her struggles with self-harm, bulimia, addiction and checking into rehab in 2011. While there, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, notes The Los Angeles Times.

The singer shared that her reason for getting sober was her sister Madison, according to US Magazine. Demi credits her family for initiating her road to recovery. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the "Skyscraper" singer shared the moment when she decided to get clean for good.

"The last time that I had an intervention, it was my management, my entire team, manager, lawyers, everyone, and my parents coming into a room saying if you don't get sober - my mom specifically said, 'You know, we're going to move back to Texas and you're not going to be able to be around your little sister," the singer recalled.

Since leaving the rehab in 2011, Lovato was very open about sharing her journey through sobriety and struggles with depression and cutting, according to ET Online.

The singer has also been very vocal about supporting fellow actors on Twitter in getting treatment for mental conditions. Demi has also been very encouraging to her followers and just recently, she launched a book called 'Staying Strong' to continue to inspire her fans.

Last year, in an interview with Fitness Magazine, the former Disney star revealed that she almost relapsed with her eating disorder while on tour, "It's been difficult. I almost went back to rehab for my eating disorder last summer."

Wilder Valderrama, who's been dating Lovato on and off since 2010, openly supports the singer-songwriter through his sweet messages for her on his Instagram.
