In celebration of the World AIDS Day on December 1, 2013, two huge organizations are set to team up to raise AIDS awareness via social media campaigns.

In its efforts to fight the spreading AIDS virus, their campaign hopes that the world of social media will help strengthen the fight against this disease. Lifestyle Condoms are encouraging everybody t join the movement.

The campaign mechanics are very simply: users only need their Instagram, Twitter or Facebook accounts to post a status with the hashtag #LetsChangeEverything. Each post will be equivalent to an interesting donation towards the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Each status with the hashtag is equivalent to one condom donated. The drive will run until the midnight of December 1.

According to AllFacebook.com, some of the status posts that people can use are the following:

"#LetsChangeEverything I'm donating my status to promote #WorldAIDSDay and to change the way the world thinks about HIV and AIDS."

"I just donated a condom to @AIDSHealthcare to support #WorldAIDSDay #LetsChangeEverything"

World Aids Day is held every year to raise the awareness of people with regards to HIV and AIDS. Its international symbol is the popular red ribbon - a sign of support for those already tested HIV positive, notes the Belfast Telegraph.

According to the 2013 Global Report made by the UN AIDS, there have been milestones reached in reducing the number of sexually transmitted disease cases through such awareness campaigns. However, these do not give any space for complacency as there are still other countries around the globe which need to be informed. UNESCO highlighted that their current efforts must be made consistently stronger since there are still so much work to be done to reach their target of up to 95% knowledge level among the youth as 2015 comes around.

Whitney Engeran-Cordova, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Senior Director of Public Health, mentioned that one of their goals is to bring change to the view of people on testing for HIV or using condoms. The organization aims to help people view it as healthy routine practices similar to seeing the dentist regularly.
