The rising news of the possibility of the emergence of male birth control pills may be interesting but should not trigger women yet to totally shrug off their own.

According to a group of researchers in Australia, if it has been made possible to block sperm with male mice to put a halt on their sexual reproduction, then it could be possible to for male individuals in around a decade's time.

The study which was published on Tuesday included scientists from Monash University genetically modifying some mice for the blockage of two kinds of proteins. These proteins are found within the cells of the mice's smooth muscles which are considered important for the sperm to reach the sexual organs of the animal, New York Daily news reported.

The result led to the mice still capable of having sex but ended up infertile. One of the researchers, Sabatino Ventura mentioned that this could lead scientists and researchers to the next developmental step of coming up with an effective and safe contraceptive pill for men.

A website called Addicting Info raised an interesting point on the possible disadvantages that the discovery can bring if the male birth control pills will push through after ten years or so. The pill may have to be taken every day which in effect can be forgotten by guys.

This may potentially lead to slam the females to submit and at the same time adjust on how to control the females if it's the guys who are taking the pills. Can insurance ever deny birth control to the female groups without having to deny it with the male species?

On the other hand, Bar-Charma, the Center for Male Reproductive Health at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York said in an article published in Philly.com that no matter how promising the new technique is it can still pose some concerns. "I applaud any effort to give couples options whereby the woman doesn't have to take a hormonal contraceptive, and I look forward to seeing this further developed," the director said.
