Frances Bean Cobain, the 22-year-old daughter of Nirvana singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and musician Courtney Love, opens up for the first time about her father, around 21 long years after his demise in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Cobain, a model and visual artist, is the executive producer of the new HBO documentary on her father's life titled "Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck."

Is Cobain missing her dad?

"Kurt got to the point where he eventually had to sacrifice every bit of who he was to his art, because the world demanded it of him," Frances shared in the Rolling Stone interview. "I think that was one of the main triggers as to why he felt he didn't want to be here and everyone would be happier without him," she added.

Cobain, no different from any other daughter in the world, surmised, "In reality, if he had lived, I would have had a dad. And that would have been an incredible experience," according to Rolling Stone.

Cobain sounds like her father

"His speaking voice is sort of similar to mine. It's sort of a monotone. The depth to it is similar to the way I speak," Frances answered, when asked for her thoughts about Kurt Cobain's speaking voice.

Nirvana reunion after a long time

Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, ex-Nirvana members got together at Cobain's place for the first time in decades, Frances revealed in the Rolling Stone interview. And it seems that even Nirvana members see how she resembles her late father.

"She (Cobain) is so much like Kurt," Grohl said, according to Frances. She said that she was bored of hearing the same stories from the band members and looked quite bored. "You (Cobain) are doing exactly what your father would have done," the members said, according to her.

Cobain says she's not a big fan of Nirvana

When Cobain was asked "Do you remember the first time you heard a Nirvana record - and knowing that was your father?" she replied, "I don't really like Nirvana that much."

However, the 22-year-old did say, "... 'Dumb' [on In Utero] - I cry every time I hear that song. It's a stripped-down version of Kurt's perception of himself - of himself on drugs, off drugs, feeling inadequate to be titled the voice of a generation." She also thinks "Territorial Pissings" from the "Nevermind" album is a "f***ing great song."
