Tim Tebow has trained tirelessly and kept fit for NFL. Finally, his training paid off as the 27-year-old quarterback will be signed by the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

Tebow told PEOPLE last month, the day before his scheduled tryout for the Eagles, that football means a lot to him. "I wouldn't work as hard as I do if I didn't care so much about it. It's my lifelong dream."

His training consists of intensive workouts and strict diet meal plans. For six days a week, Tebow does cardio and lifting for weight training. He practices with Tom House, a renowned quarterback coach who worked with Tom Brady, to improve his aiming and throwing.

Standing at 6'3" and weighing 244 lbs, Tebow takes care of his body through healthy eating choices as well. "Of course I watch what I eat," he tells PEOPLE over lunch. "That's a big part of taking care of my body."

To strengthen his resolve and motivation, he turns to prayer and optimism. "I have always focused on doing what is best for me, and the right thing to do, and ignore what other people are saying," he said. "I'm never going to give up on what I think is what God has for me. I want to have the right attitude."

His hard work and determination finally paid off as he will be signed with the Philadelphia Eagles this week. Tom House, the quarterback's coach, praised his improvement over the years. "He was probably the strongest quarterback that I have ever worked with. But strength is only one piece of the puzzle. There's efficiency, timing, and sequence.

He came to get better with accuracy; he came to get better at spinning the ball. He's doing that with me," said House via the Bleacher Report.

The coach is improving Tebow's spin in throwing the ball through technical practices in repetition, mechanics, timing, and sequence. The quarterback coach and Tebow train for three days a week, with each session about two to two-and-a-half hours in length. To further improve Tebow's throw, House lets him throw the football more than 50 times a day in addition to throwing motions.

According to Fox Sports, House worked with Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, and Drew Brees. More than ten NFL quarterbacks see him because of his proficiency in biomechanics. House has an MBA, a master's degree in marketing, and a PhD in performance psychology.
