It's still 2015 but rumors and speculations about the alleged new MacBook Air 2016 are all over the internet.

The launching and release date of the latest Apple laptop is yet to be announced by the Cupertino-based tech company. Master Herald speculates that details will be formally announced on October this year and that the MacBook Air 2016 will be available for purchase on March next year, following the pattern of how the MacBook Air 2015 version was released.

The report adds that the MacBook Air 2016 will likely be announced at the end of the year, as it is rumored to come with Intel's new processor Core M-based Skylake. Intel is reportedly releasing its new processor starting fall this year. It is possible that the new MacBook Air 2016 will be more powerful than the models that used Broadwell chip processors.

With its rumored new processor quite impressive, the upcoming Apple laptop will be slimmer than its predecessors and will feature a much more improved Retina display in 13-inch and 15-inch variants, according to Christian Today.

Additionally, it is rumored to be added with reversible Type USB-C port with Lightning and MagSafe connectors that are exclusive for Apple products, according to PC Mag.

On to another rumor, Venture Capital Post reports that the MacBook Air 2016 might feature wireless charging, a technology that foregoes the use of wires when recharging a device. The post added that an ASUS Chi notebook running on Intel's Skylake processors has wireless charging technology and this might spur Apple to include such feature on its upcoming laptop.

It is also rumored that either the MacBook Air 2016 or another new Apple product will rival Microsoft's Surface Pro 4. According to Inquisitr, the Surface Pro 4 could have a digital screen for pen input and that would be its main selling point.

However, a report by Apple Insider suggests that Apple's iPad Pro, not the MacBook Air 2016, could trump the Surface Pro 4.

"Developers digging into the iOS 9 beta discovered that Apple's 12.9-inch iPad - typically referred to as the iPad Pro - might get a unique, larger keyboard, with extra keys including an entire row dedicated to characters like asterisks and parentheses. The keyboard is only toggled to appear for an unreleased iPad size," the report said.
