Gamers will be pleased to know that Sora's keyblade will be much improved in Kingdom Hearts 3. According to Director Tetsuya Nomura, the Keyblade will be able to change in several forms, reports Game Pur.

According to Kingdom Hearts Insider, the Keyblade's abilites seem to be a fusion of its Drive Forms and Keyblade transformations from Kingdom Hearts 2. Nomura did confirm that the new Keyblade was inspired by its KH 2 counterpart, but added that it is a more evolved form.

Nomura said that the new Keyblade transformations will be explained, most probably at the beginning of the game, reports Gamezone. He clarified that the Keyblade in KH 3 goes through several transformation stages, each having unique and specific abilities. The storyline of the game seems to be tied to the Keyblades' particular form.

"In addition to the Keyblade transformations for Sora, it becomes possible to maneuver using specific forms and actions. There will be many battle choices. Take whatever strategy, it will be up to the player," Nomura said.

Due to the seemingly strategic gameplay, Gamezone concludes that KH 3 will have a more tactical format. However, Nomura said otherwise. "...for those who button mash will have an exhilarating experience but for those who want technical fights will also find fun making combinations. In addition to the Keyblade transformations, there is still the Attraction Flow to be appreciated."

Besides gameplay, Nomura also talked a little bit about the setting of the game. He revealed that the game's story picks up immediately after Kingdom Hearts 3D. He added that the exclusive PC game, Kingdom Hearts X , along with its mobile version, Kingdom Hearts Unchained X, will start to integrate Sora's fate into their storylines.

Other than the storyline's setting and the keyblade's awesome transformations, Nomura kept mum about other aspects of the game, particularly its release date and the secret movie.

Referring to the secret movie, he said: "I'll leave that to your imagination (laughs). Since there are still opportunities for us to publish information this year, in response to the reaction from E3, I am considering how much information I should show. It'll be a while until it happens, please wait."

According to Game Pur, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released on the Xbox One and the PS4. As of yet, there is no news as to when the game will be released, but more information may be released at the 2015 D23 Expo in Japan this November, reports Gamezone.
