The all-new 'Spider-Man' will reportedly be written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. The two-man directorial team who will debut their first movie "Vacation" on July 29.

The new Spider-Man remake, which remains untitled, will be released in theaters on July 28, 2017, with British actor Tom Holland playing the lead role of Peter Parker. According to Entertainment Weekly, Daley and Goldstein have previously collaborated in other films such as "Horrible Bosses," "Horrible Bosses 2", "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2" and "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone." The Spider-Man film will be directed by Jon Watts.

Other actors that are confirmed to join Holland is Marissa Tomei, who is set to play Aunt May, according to Vine Report.

Variety reports that the new Spider-Man film is made in partnership with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, who has owned the rights to the comic book character since 1999. Due to this collaboration, Spider-Man will be able to appear in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

Before Holland appears as the solo lead in the new movie, he will first appear in next year's film, "Captain America: Civil War," according to Screen Rant.

The movie will be set in high school and it will have a John Hughes "feel" to it. According to the website, Hughes is famous for his teenage films in the 1980s, specifically "The Breakfast Club," "Pretty in Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

"It's the soap opera in high school, and those supporting characters, that are interesting. Just as we hadn't seen a heist movie in a long time, or a shrinking movie in a long time, we haven't seen a John Hughes movie in a long time," said Kevin Feige, president of the Marvel Studios.

"Not that we can make a John Hughes movie—only John Hughes could—but we're inspired by him, and merging that with the superhero genre in a way we haven't done before excites us."

Since the new Spider-Man movie will be set in high school, a feat not seen in the first two live-actions, new villains may be introduced to the new movie. An interesting list of antagonists produced by Movie Pilot includes Mysterio/Quentin Beck, a member of the "The Sinister Six," which coincidentally is a spinoff movie whose filming was delayed and was originally set to be released on November 2016, according to Cinema Blend. Other members of The Sinister Six are Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman and Vulture with Doctor Octopus as the ringleader, according to Marvel.

Other villains listed in Movie Pilot's article are Scorpion/Mac Gargan, Rhino/Alex O'Hirn, Green Goblin/Norman Osborn and Shocker/Herman Schultz.
