It looks like former One Direction member Zayn Malik and Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards have officially called off their almost two-year engagement, and with this, the rumor mill is buzzing with speculations as to why they have broken up.
E! Online reminds fans that it was an Edwards-related reason why Malik left the UK-based boy band. Malik has taken to social media how much he loves Edwards and that he'll never cheat on her. Furthermore, when Malik officially quit the band, he has stated that he wants to live like a normal 22-year-old and enjoy some private time in which Edwards has been very supportive of.
The news of the split has surfaced less than a week after Malik signed a contract with RCA Records, and speculators can't help thinking how timely it is that Malik will be starting a new chapter of his life when he decides to leave out Edwards in the dust.
J-14 reports that Edwards has been devastated with the news. A source has revealed that Malik wants to start over in every way possible that is why he's moving on without his ex-fiance. In the report, Malik has dumped Edwards two weeks ago and now, things are too awkward that the two are avoiding each other while they are in Los Angeles, making it clear that they have decided not to remain friends as well.
Furthermore, Hollywood Life adds that an insider has told them that the couple has been on rocky grounds for months due to their busy schedules. They have not seen each other for quite some time and rumor has it that their sex life has turned stale for over two months already.
The insider also shares that another reason why the couple called it quits is because Edwards has been bugging Malik about their wedding plans, specifically the wedding date. Rumor has it that Malik became irritated with Edwards and when she kept on pushing, he just snapped and decided he didn't want to get married after all.
Edwards has admitted that their wedding plans have been set aside because of their careers, and as they want the wedding to be perfect, it may take a little longer to plan.
The Daily Mail writes that Edwards is currently mending her broken heart while on tour with Little Mix. In an Instagram post, her bandmate Jesy Nelson has posted a picture of Edwards relaxing by the pool and not wearing her engagement ring, looking carefree yet subdued.
