Sandra Lee, celebrity chef and New York Gov., Andrew Cuomo's longtime girlfriend, has finally been released from the hospital, pending a possible surgical procedure.

According to Chappaqua, the "Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee" star was sent to the hospital on Tuesday due to complications from the double mastectomy surgery she underwent in May.

Access Hollywood adds that Gov. Cuomo left a Billy Joel concert, held at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, early Tuesday night to be by Lee's side. Cuomo had just finished intoducing Joel, who is one of his longtime friends, before recieving word that Lee was sent to the hospital.

Cuomo cleared his weekend schedule to keep Lee company at the hospital over the weekend, reports the New York Daily News.

Lee's representatives recently posted a message on her official Facebook page, informing fans about her condition:

"Sandra will be allowed to go home over this weekend with heave antibiotics and monitoring but will need to be back for review and possible surgery at the beginning of next week," said Lee's team.

Lee's representatives hint that the cause of Lee's recent hospitalization is an unidentfied infection, which doctor's need to find and get under control, reports Access Hollywood. It would seem that since the doctor's have been unable to pinpoint the infection, they cannot decide if Lee needs to undergo further surgery, yet.

The TV chef's team adds that Lee wanted to avoid having any other surgical procedures until her final breast reconstruction surgery. However, it seems that there is a high chance she will have to go back for surgery.

According to a source, Lee believes that the current complications she is facing might be due to her pre-existing autoimmune disorder. Apparently, before breast cancer, she was diagnosed with lupus anticoagulant, which increases the risk of blood clots.

In fact, due to her previous diagnosis, doctors did look at a possible infection of the blood. However, there have been no reports of blood infection in Lee's case as of late.

Depite the hard road ahead, Cuomo claims that Lee will be fine in the future. "She is a very up personality and that's been helpful. She's optimistic and she's tough and she's a fighter," he said.

Cuomo also stated that a large number of women from his staff have gone to the doctor for breast cancer screening, since Lee announced her diagnosis. He goes on to say that Lee "did a great public service in talking about it and tweeting about it..."
