Original "Ghostbusters" member Bill Murray is slated to have a cameo in the new all-female reboot of the new movie starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth.

It has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that Bill Murray, one of the original cast members of the 1984 movie, will be having a cameo in the new "Ghostbusters" reboot by Sony Entertainment and directed by Paul Feig. The new Ghostbusters film is currently filming and is set to be released on July 22, 2016.

Variety reports that Dan Aykroyd, another previous ghostbuster, also shot a scene for the upcoming movie. Murray as Dr. Peter Venkman, Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond Stants and the late Harold Ramis as Dr. Egon Spengler were the original ghostbusting trio in the iconic 80's movie directed by Ivan Reitman.

There are no details as to what Murray's role in the film is.

According to the Daily Mail, it will not be likely for the original ghost busting trio to be reprising their old roles since the storyline of the reboot revolves around the public unaware of ghosts.

The outlet added that Aykroyd immediately deleted a tweet from the set about him shooting the film.

"On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig Lady GB's are adorable, hilarious and badass Exhilarating! #ghostbusters," Aykroyd wrote on his Twitter account.

According to the Metro, Murray was not very open to star in a third Ghostbusters film after the 1989 prequel "Ghostbusters II" was not very well received as the first one.

The Mail adds that when Ramis died in February last year, it was then decided that "Ghostbusters III" will never come to be.

The reboot film will have an all-female starring cast including Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert, Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates, Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzmann and Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan. Chris Hemsworth will be playing the role of the receptionist, Kevin.
