A special edition poster for "Star Wars VII" was distributed to fans of the galactic adventure movie series at the D23 Expo. According to the Verge, the poster was created by Drew Struzan, who has made official posters for previous "Star Wars" movies in the past.

Struzan is responsible for the special edition poster designed for the original trilogy and all of the prequel posters as well. Besides "Star Wars," Struzan has also designed posters for some "Indiana Jones' films.

The recently released poster was especially made as a promo for D23 Expo attendees. Struzan will make a separate primary poster later on.

Several already established characters have made it into the poster including Han Solo, Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren. According to Screen Rant, the poster suggests a couple details about the movie that were not previously shared to the public.

For instance, Finn, played by John Boyega, can be seen holding a blue lighsaber in the poster. The blue-bladed lightsaber suggests that Finn is a Jedi. In addition, Finn could be following Luke Skywalker's footsteps, rather than Rey, who is rumored to be Han and Princess Leia's daughter.

Rey is seen holding a weird-looking long stick, in which the top-half cannot be clearly seen. While at first glance it may seem that Rey will not follow in Luke's footsteps, there maybe some hope.

The stick Rey is holding could be a new form of lightsaber. While it is just a theory, it could be proven to be true,as Kylo Ren is also equipped with a never before seen lightsaber.

While most fans are elated that Han Solo is depicted in the poster, some are disappointed that there is no sign of Luke or Leia in the promo. Very little information has been revealed about the twins and "Star Wars" fanatics are dying to know more about their roles in the film. However, it would seem that fans will have to wait until the third trailer is released this fall to learn more about Luke and Leia.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will premiere in theatres on December 18, 2015. "Episode VIII" is set to hit theaters on May 26th, 2017, while "Episode IX" is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.

In other "Star Wars" news, Disney has announced that a Star Wars land will be coming soon to Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida, reports IGN. Sky News adds the new Star Wars-themed park will be 14 acres featuring Cantina and the rogue smugglers trading hub from the film.
