September 1 marks the first day of school for most children and Harry Potter's son was no exception. J.K. Rowling wished James Sirius Potter "good luck" for his first day of Hogwarts yesterday via Twitter, reports BuzzFeed.

The writer, who brought the wizarding world to life, asked Harry Potter fans to forward her well wishes to James Potter at King's Cross station as she was in Edinburgh and could not do it herself, states Hollywood Reporter.

Many fans were happy to hear about their beloved school of witchcraft and wizardry and were eager to pass on the message to James Potter. Some HP fans even replied to Rowling's tweet, informing the author that her message was passed on and received.

One fan, named Ren, tweeted: "@jk_rowling im on the train now he say hi." According Entertainment Tonight, J.K. Rowling was nice enough to reply to Ren's tweet.

The famous HP writer replied: Thanks! Say 'hi' back, but only if it won't interrupt any burgeoning friendships." She was referring to the very first time Harry, Ron, and Hermione met at King's Cross.

Keeping the world of magic alive in the hearts of fans, Rowling tweeted another bit of information announcing to everyone that James Potter was sorted into Gryffindor, just like his dad.

Rowling added that Lupin, who is in Hufflepuff, was quite disappointed Potter was sorted into Gryffindor. She also revealed a bit about Teddy Lupin, who turned out pretty well at Hogwarts himself. Teddy, Lupin's son, is currently Head Boy in Hufflepuff.

The author's second tweet encouraged other Hufflepuff fans to play along and respond to the news of Teddy being Head Boy.

Kenny cheerfully replied: "I am more excited at Teddy being a Head Boy, oh my god yes badger blood badger blood badger blood!!!"

Meanwhile, another supportive fan, Liv, tweeted: "I'm so proud of Teddy for being Hufflepuff and Head Boy"

Jezebel hopes that J.K. Rowling keeps the world of Harry Potter alive for fans through tweets like the ones she released yesterday. The site even offers up some ideas on which Harry Potter characters they would like to hear about from the author.

Jezebel lists a bunch of sample tweets that J.K. Rowling could post concerning many of the memorable characters of the series including Harry Potter, Hermione, Ginny, Luna Lovegood and Neville.

One tweet says: "Harry Ginny are off to the cinema this evening. They'll be seeing the new Bond film, which starts Idris Elba."
