In a poignant biopic trailer, Academy Award-winner Eddie Redmayne transforms himself to the transgender pioneer Lili Elbe. Based on the actor's performance, it looks like another win for the Best Actor award category is in order as Redmayne owned the character like nobody else.

People Magazine writes that Redmayne has spent three years learning and understanding how to become Lili Elbe and he has immersed himself in the trans community to make his portrayal of the role work.

Just like what he said on the beginning of the trailer, "I think Lili's thoughts. I dream her dreams", Redmayne has made sure that he becomes Lili in the film. The actor humbly shares that he felt he has been given this opportunity to not only educate himself but the entire world as well.

The "Theory about Everything" actor has won himself three major best actor awards this year, which includes the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and the Oscars.

Naturally, fans and critics speculate that "The Danish Girl" will give Redmayne another set of awards.

Entertainment Weekly writes that the film is based on a historical novel of the same title and follows the true story of Elbe, who became the first transgender during the 1920s. Elbe has undergone gender confirmation surgery with the support of his wife, Gerda, played by Swedish actress Alicia Vikander in the movie.

Tom Hooper, the director of the film, shares that he was moved by Elbe's power of love, even during a difficult time. He shares that he has wept three times after reading the script because the story is comparable to "The King's Speech".

Furthermore, Screen Daily writes that Hooper believes in Redmayne's craft as an actor and thinks he has a sort of gender fluidity in him, making him the perfect person to play the part.

Chicago Tribune reports that as transgender issues continue to give awareness, "The Danish Girl" will surely generate an Oscars win for Redmayne and Hooper. Matthias Schoenaerts and Amber Heard also star in the film.

"The Danish Girl" makes it debut in the Venice Film Festival this week and hits movie theaters starting Nov. 27.
