"Prison School," the popular manga turned anime, will be getting its very own live-action show. The official trailer of the live-action version can be seen below. It will premiere on Oct. 26 on MBS, reports Rocket News 24.

Fandom Post explains that the plot focuses on Hachimitsu Academy, a school formerly made up of an all-girl student body. At the beginning of the story line, however, the Academy opens its doors to the male gender.

Fujino Kiyoshi is one of the first boys to enroll in Hachimitsu Academy. He later learns that there are only four other guys attending the school, making the ratio of girls to boys 200:1. Because of the strikingly outbalanced ratio, Fujino and the other boys believe that their school days will be like a harem heaven.

To the boys' surprise, however, the school is very strict. It even has its own on-campus jailhouse. As for the girls at the school, they completely ignore the entire existence of Fujino and the other boys.

The boys' dreams turn into a nightmare, after they meet the "shadow student council," an all-girl group. After trying to peek at the girls' shower rooms, the council jails the boys and starts to punish them BDSM-style.

For those who are not familiar with the manga or the anime, Kotaku warns that there is some serious sadomasochism in "Prison School's" story line. It is not quite sure yet how closely the live-action show will follow the manga or anime.

However, it is probably safe to say that some of its more BDSM-style content will make it into the live-action version. After all, the masochistic content of "Prison School" is part of its appeal.

Toshi Nakamura from Kotaku believes that fans of "Prison School" should not get their hopes up with the live-action version. The live-action adaptations of popular anime or manga series have always been disappointing, and "Prison School" may not be an exception.

There has been a long line of botched live-action adaptations, including "Attack on Titan," which received mixed reviews. The live-action drama of "Death Note" has not been received well by audiences either, Nakamura points out.

Nakamura believes that the only saving grace about the live-action adaptation of "Prison school" is that Noboru Iguchi will direct and work on the script. Iguchi has worked on cult classics like "The Machine Girl" and "Robo Geisha."

As seen on the trailer, the live-action show will keep the short skirts, the show of cleavage and even the overall look of the characters intact.
