It looks like several big things are about to happen to the Xbox One console this coming fall and holiday season. With Microsoft's announcement about a backwards compatibility software and other "too good to be true" rumors spreading like wildfire, fans and techie geeks can't help but anticipate what's in store for their favorite console before the year ends.

Following Microsoft's announcement regarding their November software update on Xbox Wire, here are the five news and rumors that fans need to know.

1) Backward compatibility feature will be launched during the November update

According to Games Radar, Microsoft said that for the coming November updates, gamers will be able to play more than 100 Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One consoles, with additional 100 more games in the months to come. This feature will also include screenshots, game DVR and streaming - all for Xbox 360 games. Furthermore, a multiplayer game can be played with friends even if they are using Xbox 360.

2) Xbox Preview Dashboard for a faster and social Xbox One experience

Xbox Wire writes that with the November update, users will be receiving the "fastest and most social Xbox experience ever". If they click on their Xbox Live message invitation, it will launch the new Xbox Preview Dashboard, which will help users access the application and games they've recently played faster. Xbox One will be getting a redesigned Guide & Community section that will provide a live newsfeed of players' activities and what is the most popular games for the console. It will also include an updated Xbox One store to allow users to find their favorite games easier.

3) PlayStation 4 will bow down to what Xbox One has in store for its Holiday Exclusives

Games Radar adds that according to Kudo Tsunoda, a Microsoft executive, competitors will not be able to measure to the content of Xbox One's holiday lineup. Tsunoda states that the company has listened to customer feedback and made sure that the exclusive titles will be something Xbox One users will love.

4) Rumored DirectX 12 will boost Xbox One's CPU performance by 50 percent and GPU performance by 20 percent

According to Pure Xbox, a leaked document from an Xbox One site is stating the speculated performance benefits of the DirectX 12 although, of course, no one has seen this alleged document yet.

5) "Halo 5" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be out with the Holiday exclusives

If PS4 has the exclusive Destiny content like "Until Dawn" and upcoming "Uncharted 4", Xbox One users and fans will be ogling "Halo 5" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider" soon, Win Beta writes.
