There are a lot of things Apple fans are expecting from the upcoming flagship mobile device, the iPhone 7. But, one thing that is almost a certainty to come as a huge disappointment is on the display department.

And, not that it comes as a surprise, Apple has seemingly rested on their laurels after their introduction of the Retina Display in iPhone 4 devices, a cutting-edge technology at the time it was released back in 2010. Now, the display technology has since been relegated to the backseat.

According to an article from Forbes, Samsung was pushing for Apple to replace the LCD technology that it has been using in their devices with an AMOLED screen, which would offer wider viewing angles and more vivid colors.

However, Ming-Chi Kuo from Taiwan's KGI Securities, who is dubbed as the most accurate and reliable Apple analyst in the tech world today, predicted that a switch from the usual IPS LCD panels to AMOLED technology is not likely until 2018.

If this turns out to be true, the battery life of iPhone 7 and other future Apple devices could suffer with the current LCD display being less energy-efficient than AMOLED. And, with rumored plans that the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are going to be slimmer, which could mean less compartment space for a bigger battery, battery life could really turn out to be quite a drag.

Not unless Apple decides to do something about it. Expert Reviews is more hopeful that the tech giant might have some tricks up its sleeve. They cited the new A10 chip that is most likely more energy efficient that its predecessor and could have a smaller body to give way to a bigger battery. And, there is also the possibility of the iOS 10 contributing to a boost in battery power.

Meanwhile, one exciting feature that the iPhone 7 has in stored for the buyers is its waterproofing capability. An Apple patent application, entitled "Liquid Expulsion From An Orifice," has found its way to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and could pave the way for the device to become water-resistant, AustraliaNetworkNews wrote.

As for the iPhone7 release date, Kuo believed that there won't be any launch to be expected earlier in 2016. Apple, he said, would not go out of their usual way of releasing their flagship mobile devices in the third quarter period and more likely at the latter part of September.
