Samsung Displays to Produce 20 Million 5.8-inch AMOLED Display Panels for upcoming iPhone; Apple Might Reveal 5-inch, 5.5" TFT LCD Models too

Although there were reports earlier that Apple has asked LG Displays and Samsung Displays to produce Curved Display for its upcoming iPhone 8, recent reports suggest that Apple has requested Samsung to produce the batch of AMOLED Display for which moniker is not available. 

As per the reports published by Digitimes, Samsung has become an exclusive supplier of Displays when Apple asked the Taiwanese Maker to produce AMOLED Display of 5.8-inch. Another two displays that will be produced alongside are 4.7" and 5.5" TFT LCD Panels. There were reports of LG Display producing over 200 Million units of Curved Display for Apple, however, the moniker for the given screen size is not known yet. Samsung has estimated its monthly production at 20 Million units and that when all manufacturers are combined, Apple will receive around 60 Million to 70 Million panels monthly for global coverage.   

Apple is surrounded by rumors these days. 9to5 Mac reported that it is being speculated that the 5.8-inch AMOLED display is for upcoming iPhone 8 and the rest two could be added in the 8 series of iPhone. Apple iPhone 8 has garnered huge response as soon as its release began speculating. The Apple iPhone 8 will be an all-screen curved display with premium features and bezel-less design which is being mimicked by Samsung as well. 

Concerning with the AMOLED and TFT Display panel, Apple will source its AMOLED and TFT Display Panels from TPK holding and General Interface Solution and Samsung Displays. As per their reports, Nissha Printing which is a Japaned-based company will be supplying touch sensors. Apple might release a 5-inch variant of iPhone in the iPhone 7 series with the probable moniker of iPhone 7s/ iPhone 7s Plus, etc.

Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were launched were Jet Black color. Speculations are that Apple might come up with a Jet White color variant and most probably with the iPhone 8 release which is slated to launch is September 2017.
