Many times one might prefer multivitamin tablets for the intake of sufficient vitamins, minerals, and proteins for the body rather than eating healthy food, but is this always a right decision? Supplements do not harm as many say, but is it designed for everyone?

According to Caveman Doctor, apart from pregnant women or elder people, no one (who is healthy) needs a daily supplement or a multivitamin. It is a truth that the vitamin which people are taking from a supplement is best taken if taken from a food in a balanced diet.

A perfect balanced diet needs to be maintained for the perfect absorption of vitamins from food and getting a perfect health which human need. The human body works to absorb vitamins and minerals from the food they eat, the body doesn't work to absorb vitamins and minerals from capsules and tablets.

The Mirror says, that the American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, and the United States Preventive Services Task Force have stated that no multivitamin has a role in preventing cancer or a heart disease.

Studies also revealed that more than thousands of heart attack patients found fish oil supplements no effective in preventing the disease. It was also revealed that fish oil supplements can raise the risk of prostate cancer.

Similarly, intakes of magnesium supplements are effective for perfect muscle working function but it is a truth that if an overdose is taken i.e. above 250 milligrams, some adverse side effects can be caused such as diarrhea and some interference with antibiotics and diuretics can also be caused.

Magnesium supplements are effective for preventing muscle cramps and night leg cramps, but magnesium can also be obtained from foods such as spinach, legumes, wholegrain cereals etc.

Talking about the calcium supplements, no doubt it can help in the bone strength along with age but it can also raise the risk of the heart attack and cause kidney stones and various digestive problems. People take Calcium and Vitamin supplements for making bones strong but there has been no proof that these supplements have prevented cancer.

A balanced diet is recommended for perfect absorption of vitamins and minerals for making the body healthy excluding people who have been prescribed from doctors for the need of supplements. But it is not that if people are on supplements, they should not take healthy and balance diet.  A healthy and balanced proper diet always helps one in being healthy.
