Britney Spears appeared gorgeous and in good shape earlier this May for the Billboard Music Awards in Vegas, alongside "Pretty Girls" partner Iggy Azalea. So what keeps the "Baby One More Time" hit maker fit?

In preparation for her Las Vegas residency, which started last December 2013, the pop singer said she wanted to be toned and fit. According to Daily Mail, Spears does workouts prepared by Tony Martinez at least three to four times a week, at 40 minutes per session.

"She loves all core workouts. She's a very tenacious woman. She wants to get it done and get it done right," Martinez said. He also added that Britney loves core discs.

"Core discs are little circle things that I had made up for my product and we use those for a lot of ab workouts. We use those for mountain climbers, will do a barrel roll tuck in where you turn around all the way over and then you bring your knees in. So really functional exercises that she likes, and she's like, 'I really feel this,'" Martinez shared.

Martinez also revealed that Spears loves cardio but he would make her run backwards instead.

"She's like 'I'm gonna go backwards?''I'd be like 'Yeah let's go on the treadmill and walk backwards.' She'd be like, 'I could lose my hamstrings and my glutes. What are you doing to me!?'," he told Daily Mail.

In addition to her intense workouts, Tony also help in making sure that Britney has a good diet.

"I pretty much just wanted her to balance out her proteins, carbs, and fat. Everything pretty balanced in that aspect because she was doing a lot of cardio so I wanted her energy up the whole entire time," he said, according to News Australia.

Martinez, who also trains Janet Jackson and Pink, added that Britney Spears is "really nice sweet girl" who is "just like a regular person." He also noted that he's seen Britney's funny and relaxed side since the pop sensation likes to crack jokes with him.

Britney's wacky side was captured in a recent video interview with Peter Helliar for "The Project," E! Online reports.

Meanwhile, Spears recently revealed that she will back to Australia "very soon." So far, no details have been released about her comeback, but many fans believe that she could be prepping for a guest appearance on Iggy Azalea's shows.
