After reports of the "Avatar" sequel and its delay in production, there are rumors that there may be more than three sequels.

According to Venture Capital Post, Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington will reprise their roles as Neytiri and Jake Sully. However, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang's characters, which were killed in the first movie, will still show up in the sequel.

1.) Unconfirmed release dates for the three sequels

According to Cinema Blend, "Avatar 2" will be in theaters on Dec. 25, 2017, "Avatar 3" will be shown on December 2018 and "Avatar 4" will be released in 2019. For as to why the sequel of the 2009 blockbuster was moved to another year, 20th Century Fox CEO Jim Gianopulos said "James Cameron has his own pace," the website reports.

2.) There may be "Avatar 5"

James Horner, the music composer for "Avatar" said that Cameron is working on four scripts for the sequels.

"Right now Jim has four sequels, script-wise. And he's trying to make it into three. And that is where, I think, his effort is going right now. To keep it to three sequels. Because he's got so much going on how do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie, total. And he'll get that sorted out," Horner said in an interview with Hey U Guys.

3.) "Avatar 2" will have major underwater scenes

Horner also confirmed that the sequel will have a lot of underwater scenes. According to Ecumenical News, Cameron is using motion-capture technology for the shots that will be done in the water.

4.) The sequels will be standalone films and will revolve around Na'vi culture

In another report by Ecumenical News, the succeeding prequels will feature Pandora's oceans and Na'vi culture rather than the human hybrids. Cameron also said that it will be a "greater story arc." Meanwhile, co-producer Jon Landau revealed that the story will have a lot of family-friendly themes.

5.) The sequel will be "emotional"

In an interview with MTV, Zoe Saldana shared that she got a glimpse of the scripts with Cameron telling them about the story and shared that she got "choked up" hearing about it and she looks forward to it. This hints that the new sequel will once again tug at our heartstrings.

6.) Neytiri will be present in all sequels

The website also confirmed that Neytiri will be in all three (or four) sequels. She told MTV that she knew it was the case.

"Then it was confirmed last fall when they approached us, already telling us these are the dates, lock yourself, we would like you to start getting ready around this time," she said in the interview.
